OOTD: Muggle Clothes #2

So the day I went to see Brave, I did actually get dressed up... In my muggle clothes. So here are some pictures for you.

So I wore the skull shirt from before, only I cropped it! I have been wanting to do this for forever. So I finally sat down and did it. I will post what I did later on, so you can see.
The shorts are hand-me-down pants that I cut up a long time ago. And I decided to wear, what my mom refers to as biker shorts, my black shorts underneath to make it look more... interesting? I thought I would try it out, and I really enjoyed the look.

No face shots or hair shots this time, because I didn't do them. It was 99 degrees that day, so my make-up was going to melt off, and my hair would have deflated. So when it gets cooler I will do more stuff.

So that was what I wore to the movies. Hope you guys enjoyed it. And see you soon!

Some New Movies: Brave

This June 22, 2012 I went to see Brave. So I guess this is a mini-review for you guys, because I don't want to give too much away.

For those who don't know Merida, or what the commercials say for this movie (basically those who live under rocks) here is the gist of all that before we get to the meat. So Merida is from Scotland, and it is based in the past. (I know, I am being a bit obvious, bear with me.) If I had to place it I would say it was around the time the Romans were trying to invade???? Maybe? Not really? I don't know, that is my best guess. She is the princess that doesn't want to get married. She wants to continue the life she has right now. She likes to ride her... well giant horse, shoot arrows, sword fight, climb, and so on. However her mom the Queen wants her to get married. This is pretty much all the trailers tell you. They played the whole plot pretty close to the chest.

Now some back ground on the movie. It is made by Pixar and being distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. It is also Pixar's first princess movie! All the actors are from the United Kingdom, that I can tell of. And they went to Scotland and other such places to get the look right. They went so far as to make new brushes for Merida's hair and the moss you see everywhere.

Now it is time for the actual meat. Or the sample piece of meat. So the rumors are true, she does not find a prince at all! Well, she meets the suitable suitors for her hand in marriage but she doesn't get married. In fact she doesn't even have a boyfriend by the end of the movie! Now don't get me wrong this is a very loving movie, just not a romantic loving movie. It is something I would totally see with my family, or just my mom. ~hint hint~
Totally leaving that line of thought behind we go to Merida her self. Now since Little Mermaid came out we have had more and more strong women roles for our princess. Gone are the times of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, we were getting princess who were stronger. Merida is the strongest princess I have seen up to date, with Princess Tiana coming in a close second. Trying not to give anything away... but remember when I wrote about her sword fighting and shooting arrows? Well there will be some great action scene's with her, staring her, with all her awesome skills! And she is not, and I can not stress this enough, she is not and damsel in distress!

Moving on, I don't know if you ever watched Hayao Miyazaki's movies, but in most of them there isn't a "bad guy", not one true one, just misunderstood people or people in a tough situation. I think you will find that true about this movie as well.

Well, to rap up this completely teasing post, and may I say quite random post, I suggest you take the time and go see this movie. It will not be a waste of your time, not in any way, shape or form. So enjoy the movie!

Denver Zoo, An Outing

The other day me, my brother, and my nephew went to the Denver Zoo to see their new exhibit. I usually don't go to zoo's because they make me sad but today was a special day, we were going to see the new habitats for the elephants.
However we had to leave early because my brother wasn't feeling well, so we didn't get to see the new exhibit. But I did get some good pictures, and actually had a fun time!
So enjoy the pictures of the zoo. I highly suggest going to Denver Zoo if you are ever in town.

So that was some of the zoo. Do you guys like going to the zoo? What is your favorite zoo? Hope you enjoyed!

Some New Things: Muggle Clothes

With sometime between some of the other post I planned to make I figured I would do a bit of an wardrobe update. I went shopping the other day and got what I call 'muggle clothes', or basically non-lolita clothes. I haven't shopped like that for like two years. Nothing ever really stood out to me. But now it seems that the 90's are coming back in (with our own twist naturally) and I LOVE these clothes, I can't get enough of them! This might be a lot of pictures, so I don't want to scare you all right away! Only over time. So I hope you enjoy the clothes I bought. Maybe I could do an item seven ways? I think that would be fun.

So these are the clothes I bought to revamp my wardrobe. Have you guys started a new wardrobe, or tried a new look with the clothes you already have? Do you have any tips for me? Hope you enjoyed!

Some New Things: Books and Movies

So when I went out the other day I didn't really plan on buying anything, but we did go to a bookstore so naturally I was going to leave with something! I ended up leaving with a lot more than what I had planed on getting.

I love books, which means leaving a bookstore with one book is a bit odd for me. However I am on a tight budget and must watch my spending. Well after hearing John Green, writer of The Fault in our Stars and Looking for Alaska, rant and rave about this book I figured I would get it. It seems like a real interesting and promising book, and I couldn't wait to read it. It is Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I look forward to reviewing it for you guys!

The next things I got where some movies! I was really excited because they were having a sale on the movies! Not only that but I found a couple of good finds if I do say so myself!

I have been looking for this movie everywhere for about two years, and I could only find it on the internet. No stores carried it, that I saw. I was always on the look out, searching every time we went to a place that sold DVD's. So imagine my surprise when I went to buy The Secret World of Arrietty I find the one movie I have been looking for, for about two years, The Nightmare Before Christmas! I was so excited I almost trampled over my family and friends that were there.

The next movie I only saw the end of it and really liked it surprisingly. You see this whole horror movie thing I am into, well I kinda just got into it. For like 18 years of my life I was never really a fan of it. And just these last four years ago I really got into thriller movies. So this movie to me was scary, too scary for me to watch. And I actually really enjoyed it, when I caught the end of it, and can't wait to see it from begging to end! To finally enjoy this classic movie, The Shinning.

The last thing I got isn't really all that hard to find. However it is a huge inspiration to me, not just in fashion but in my day to day life activities as well. It is just a movie I really enjoy to watch and relax too. Not to mention some of the most excellent songs! What can I say? I just really love Beatlejuice.

So that was what I got the other day! I am really happy with my purchases and will enjoy them greatly. Did you get anything new lately? Anything creepy and crawly? I hope you guys enjoy the week! See you soon.

International Lolita Day: A bit delayed

Hi guys! It has bee awhile, I admit I have been on a bit of a block not knowing what to write about first! But lucky for me one of my long time friends wanted to hang out in style for International Lolita Day! Only a bit late... But it was the first time I ever got to hangout with another Lolita while also wearing lolita. And we had so much fun! I can't wait to do it again this coming up Wednesday. I am excited to meet more lolita's in my area and get more lolita friends. With out further ado here is how are late International Lolita Day went.

We decided that we were going to go to the Barnes and Noble, and than we were going to Starbucks after. My brother and nephew came with us! And we had a blast at Barnes and Noble! I haven't ever been there with Jamie before! In fact it was the first time we were even in lolita together! We got a lot of complements from the people in the store and even got asked to have our picture taken! That was my favorite one because it has never happened to me before, and the nice lady even knew that we were dressed up in lolita! And said that one day she would like to do it as well!

Afterwards we went to Starbucks getting ready to get some drinks, when my brother suggested to go Jumba Juice instead. So we went there and he even paid for all of us! Than me and Jamie took some really cute pictures, if I do say so myself.

After enjoying our beverages we went back and collected Jamie's sister and than headed over to my parents house and played Clue for a pretty long time. Can you guess what we did after that? If you guessed pictures you would be right! I had such a fun time just taking pictures and being in them. It was pretty awesome!

Here is an extra because I am a sap and I love to edit pictures!

After that we changed and went to her house to hang out longer there. It was one of the best days I have had in awhile, and I am glad I got to spend the day with her and look forward to next week!

See you guys soon!

OOTD: Lolita #1

The other day I went out with a friend and this is what I wore. Don't worry, hopefully you will here more about what we did here later! So look forward to that! So enjoy the outfit!

Okay, outfit run down.

Dress(jsk): Strawberry Skies (Space Rangers)

Cardigan: Angelic Pretty

Headdress: Metamorphose Temps de Fille

Socks: Off brand

Shoes: An*tai*na

Here is a closer look of my make-up and hair. I was pretty sad because I curled the front of my hair but it was like 100% humidity here, so even with the hairspray it still fell. It sucked! But that is okay. Things to learn for next time, and it still doesn't look half bad.

Annndddd here is an extra/bonus picture because I am a goof! Hope you enjoy the awkwardness that I can convey across the camera.

I hope you guys enjoy my outfit and my amazing goofy face! I also hope you are enjoying your summer! Look forward to hearing from you guys and writing again!

It's A Wonderful World: Editing Pictures

As I already mentioned in Details Details, when I was making the header I found this website which edits photos. I have never used Photoshop so I wouldn't know if they were similar or very different. What I can say is I am so glad to have found this website!
This website has allowed me to save some of my most lost photos, and scare me half to death! My camera is not the best camera on the earth to say the least. It kind of really sucks, which means poor quality. A lot of my pictures were really dark and shady. So shady I didn't even notice other things in them! So this website has allowed for me to take my pictures and make them a better quality to share with other people. Though I might have gone over board with some of them.

So here are some examples, I have been mostly focusing on my lolita outfits that needed rescuing from the dark. So enjoy!
Before

After

You can see more details in the second picture, and it is very bright. I like that you can see more details but your eyes totally get shocked by the shocking colors! Here is another one where you can see the details better.

Before

After

And in these ones you can see the details more clearly on the dress, and you can see more details on my hair! The next ones were in terrible condition, like you could barley see the what was going on, have a look see.

Before

After

These pictures show just how awesome it can be to edit, in the before picture it is so hard to see the dress and it details. In fact I have shown no one this picture before because of it's terrible quality. And in the other one you can actually make out the color of the dress.

Before

After

Last ones I promise, unless you really want to see more! In which case I have a lot more! I am just really excited I can save pictures that you can actually see the details in them! It is amazing! In these ones you can actually see my funny face! No making fun of me okay? One you can barley see my picture or anything besides my cheeks, and the other you can see most. I know in the last two the photos still look funny but the whole things is now that you can actually see them.

Hope you enjoyed me geeking out over this new website, hope you have or will give photo editing a try! It is all good fun. And it shows you that all the pictures you see on the vast interwebs might not actually be what they seem. So keep a good eye out and have a blast!

Outfit Of The Day or OOTD

So I wore this Friday to a softball game. I really enjoyed playing with my look some more and getting to do my hair. I am really digging the 90's. (Have I said this before? Maybe, I don't know or remember.) So I have my cropped shirt going, I would love to have more of these!( Totally a DIY idea ~Hint hint~) So enjoy the pictures!

Guys, I just really love these glasses okay?

Oh, and if you didn't know my hair is dyed, well now you know! I really love it and had it done about two weeks ago, and I think it's just perfect. By the way, I will do a couple post about my clothes and what I am doing and what not here in the future so you will understand what we are doing with this whole fashion thing. I promise there is a method behind the madness.

Details Details

Does it ever feel like you are doing too much at once? Yeah that's how I feel right about now. I am watching Are You Afraid of the Dark? and The Dark Night at the same time. It is really weird.

So lets talk some more about our details, or mine to be more precise.

In fashion terms I am into lolita, and if you know anything about lolita than you know there is sub-styles. And if you didn't, now you do. My favorite types are gothic, bittersweet, and punk... but I am in to everything, and wear whatever I feel like. Than for 'normal clothes' or what I call muggle clothes, I like black clothes and am obsessed with platform shoes! I am really digging the 90's feel and alternative fashions are the best inspirations!

Speaking of alternative fashion, you might see some street snaps on here! Where I live there isn't really any "cool" people, which is sad. But when ever I go into Denver or Aurora I am always inspired by the people I see! There are some awesome people out there. There are some fantastic outfits I have seen but never had the courage to ask for the picture! Oh, well. Now I actually have a reason.

I enjoy reading so much, you usually don't find me with out a book in my face. You might see some reviews and quotes on here. Especially some of my favorite books that I want to share with you. The books I am reading right now are Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Complete Sherlock Holmes: Volume 1 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, Killer's Kiss by R.L. Stine; just to name a few.

Killer's Kiss

I just did my header today as well! I did it all on this website. I have now been fixing all my pictures/playing around with them. It has been so much fun! I am fixing all my lolita pictures with my black dresses because the detail gets all lost! It makes me upset to say the least.

Re Done Photo

See the difference? I think it is real good fun! And who doesn't do this type of thing now in days? I see it all the time and am always awed with the results. Now I can do my own! It is AWESOME!

One of my favorite things to do when I am 1)not reading and 2)on the internet, is I watch movies. A lot of movies. My current thing is watching classic horror movies, or old horror movies. Some of my favorites so far, out of the 50 I am going to watch, are Carnival of Souls directed by Herk Harvey (1962), and Nightmare Castle directed by Mario Caiano (1965).

100_1174a

The last couple of movies I just watched for the first time that I enjoyed were, Chronicle directed by Josh Trank (2012), The Avengers directed by Joss Whedon (2012), and Donnie Darko directed by Richard Kelly (2001). All really good movies if I do say so myself.

See you guys around soon! Hope you enjoyed getting to know the smaller details about me, and what you might see on here.
