Christmas Haul: What I got from Everyone Else

So just thought I would post and talk about Christmas like everyone else on the internet.... I won't be saying much about anything because you might see some of this stuff on My Wall Changes... and I didn't take a pic of everything I got...
Also disclaimer most of these weren't suppose to be Christmas presents, they where new work clothes my mom got for me but since she tried to give them to me only a couple of days before christmas I requested that she would wrap them so that I would have more to open later. I know... I'm lame, but those are in there too.

Its also really blurry, sorry about that. I am also really excited about this stocking stuffer.....

A Loki key chain! Yay!!

That is all for this post! Thanks for coming around!!

My Wall Changes: Part 1

How to best explain this... Well lets start with tumblr... There are some fabulous tumblr lolitas who I adore sooo much! They both are from Austrilia funnily... but besides the point I noticed that both of these ladies had clothes on their walls, and I thought it was very interesting but couldn't figure out why they would do that!

So one day I asked one of them, and she said that she just liked hanging them up to look at them.
That simple, well this got me thinking that it would be a great idea for me to do that!!! So I pushed some pins in my walls and hung up some new clothes I had gotten. Now I hang up my new clothes to admire them but also so that I will remember to wear them after I get them, and not to keep wearing the same old muggle clothes every day.
I don't have pictures for each time it changes but I do have two!

So here is the first time I did it and the clothes that where hanged up.

 Rundown~
Right to Left:

And the next one I have might look familar to you guys!

Look forward so more of these as well! maybe not all that often, but its a nice idea and I'm glad I got to share it with you.

Thanks for reading!

OOTD: Lolita #3 Christmas Time Speacial!!!

Well even though Christmas isn't my favorite holiday out of the year (its right next to Valentines and Columbus Day) my family has a giant Christmas Eve party every year, and even though this post might be a bit late for Christmas I thought I would show you what I wore. It was a very casual outfit with out being a causal lolita outfit, meaning that I was dressed up but not super duper accessories everywhere dressed up. And I also used some of the new items I got in! Consider this a teaser to a wardrobe update.
Now with out further ado here is what I wore:

Christmas Cheer
Outfit Rundown~
Blouse: Bodyline
JSK: Bodyline
Socks: F+F
Headband: its a spiked headband from Claire's

See... not too dressy, like I said. You might be like what! new things! Well there is a story all about the fact I haven't gotten new lolita stuff till recently... Want to hear my story of woe? (If you do not care don't worry about it and just skip the really long post bellow..*)

I had moved from one place to another around 2 years ago, and when I did that all my money dried up because I no longer had a job. And it took me a long long time to get a job, and where I was living it was really hard to get around seeing as I can't drive so I have to take a public transport system or walk. This made wearing lolita impossible for me because I would always worry about whether or not it would get dirty, not to mention the 2 hour bus ride to and from school. OR how snooty the place was, I just didn't fee comfortable. I basically stopped wearing my lolita I worked so hard for, and I couldn't afford new items. When I finally did get a job, it only paid enough for me to pay for school, since I pay for schooling out of my own pocket and have yet had to take out school loans, it was important for me not to spend too much money.

Here is when the story takes a turn for the best (not saying that my time there wasn't okay but hey no lolita!) I moved to a cheaper place and got a new job. And originally I was making the same as I was at the other place but than my hours tripled! ( I am not happy about this, I was going to school full time at this point and was only suppose to work these hours for 6 weeks and it turned into 3 months, needless to say I am very very very pissed, if you want to hear the whole story you can ask about it or request I make it into a post.) This meant 3X the money, which at first I was very careful not to spend, but than black Friday happened and I ended up buying new lolita for me! Which will be in a new wardrobe post, after it all gets here! No spoilers!

*So I got a new blouse (taking my own advice from my tips and tricks post!) and two new dresses so far, this was my first time wearing both of these! I have to say I am really really happy!

Thank you so much for reading!!!

Outfits Running Through My Head: Black Cat's and Witches/ Halloween Time

Black Cat, Witch, Apple Tree Halloween inspired outfit:

Black Cat, Witch, Apple Tree Halloween themed outfit

So this outfit has been in my head for a couple of days, and has encouraged me to finally get a polyvore! It was a lot of fun picking everything out, and putting it all together. A shameful secret I have is that I am pretty lack luster when it comes to coords sometimes, hopefully this site will help me out and make me stretch my creativity. How do you guys like the outfit! Be nice it is my first one after all. :D
See you guys soon.

Wardrobe Update: DIY's

So as promised I will show you how I am updating my wardrobe. Taking the old ratty stuff I would just usually throw away, and making it wearable again. This post will consist of the one shirt I wore to see Brave.

So I decided to crop my top. I took my old hand-me-down shirt my brother gave me after he got too big for it and basically cut it all up. The shirt was faring pretty badly, there were holes everywhere! So to the chopping block it went!

What my shirt looked like before, without styling or anything.

Things you will need:
1. Marker, or something to mark where you will cut your shirt.

2. Sharp scissors, fabric scissors, or cutting blade. A way to cut the material.

3. A ruler, or a something that will make a nice straight line. Not pictured above.

I suggest that you put the shirt on, and see where you want it cropped at. You want to wear it after all and you want to feel comfortable wearing it out. This way you have an idea where to cut.
Take your marker and mark on the shirt where you want to roughly cut it.

Take your shirt and using the ruler draw a line across your shirt.
You don't have to do a straight line like I did, if you want to do a tilted line or zig-zag's do it! It is your shirt, have fun.

*~ I decided that I wanted my back to be a little bit longer than my front, here are some pictures of that. This is a step you don't have to do, this was just me making it my own type of style. ~*

For this part I made a slight curve and matched it up to the front line so it wouldn't look choppy.

Next step is to cut! On the line(s) that you made.
Here I am cutting up the seam because of the two different lengths in my shirt.

Next you cut off anything else you want, or you are done! Ta-da!
For my shirt I also cut off the sleeves and the collar. They had holes in them, and cutting them off created a nice breezy shirt that is perfect for summer.

That is what I did to my Shirt for the OOTD when we went to see Brave. I hope this encourages you to rescue some old items that you were going to throw away, and make them part of your wardrobe once again.

Outfit Street Snaps #1

One of the ideas I would really like to do here is outfit snaps of outfits that I found inspiring and just plan awesome. I believe that real fashion doesn't come out of a magazine but comes from people, and the people who are inspired by other people.
It is one of the reasons I enjoy wearing lolita, because I believe it inspires the people around me. And I like being other people's muse.
But back to the point! So I would like to share what I find inspiring with you, in hopes that I inspire you, so you can inspire someone else, and so on.

With out further ado, here is the first outfit street snap. Sadly we were in a hurry, so I didn't get his name or give him the blog so he could look it up. Or even get the details of what he was wearing. So if you are out here reading this! Hope you enjoy. :)

The reason his outfit stood out to me is the fact he is wearing like velvet pants. They were amazing! I want a pair now. Also, it was like 100 degrees outside and he was wearing velvet pants and all black! My hero.

I hoped you guys enjoyed the first street snap! Look forward to seeing more!

OOTD: Muggle Clothes #2

So the day I went to see Brave, I did actually get dressed up... In my muggle clothes. So here are some pictures for you.

So I wore the skull shirt from before, only I cropped it! I have been wanting to do this for forever. So I finally sat down and did it. I will post what I did later on, so you can see.
The shorts are hand-me-down pants that I cut up a long time ago. And I decided to wear, what my mom refers to as biker shorts, my black shorts underneath to make it look more... interesting? I thought I would try it out, and I really enjoyed the look.

No face shots or hair shots this time, because I didn't do them. It was 99 degrees that day, so my make-up was going to melt off, and my hair would have deflated. So when it gets cooler I will do more stuff.

So that was what I wore to the movies. Hope you guys enjoyed it. And see you soon!

International Lolita Day: A bit delayed

Hi guys! It has bee awhile, I admit I have been on a bit of a block not knowing what to write about first! But lucky for me one of my long time friends wanted to hang out in style for International Lolita Day! Only a bit late... But it was the first time I ever got to hangout with another Lolita while also wearing lolita. And we had so much fun! I can't wait to do it again this coming up Wednesday. I am excited to meet more lolita's in my area and get more lolita friends. With out further ado here is how are late International Lolita Day went.

We decided that we were going to go to the Barnes and Noble, and than we were going to Starbucks after. My brother and nephew came with us! And we had a blast at Barnes and Noble! I haven't ever been there with Jamie before! In fact it was the first time we were even in lolita together! We got a lot of complements from the people in the store and even got asked to have our picture taken! That was my favorite one because it has never happened to me before, and the nice lady even knew that we were dressed up in lolita! And said that one day she would like to do it as well!

Afterwards we went to Starbucks getting ready to get some drinks, when my brother suggested to go Jumba Juice instead. So we went there and he even paid for all of us! Than me and Jamie took some really cute pictures, if I do say so myself.

After enjoying our beverages we went back and collected Jamie's sister and than headed over to my parents house and played Clue for a pretty long time. Can you guess what we did after that? If you guessed pictures you would be right! I had such a fun time just taking pictures and being in them. It was pretty awesome!

Here is an extra because I am a sap and I love to edit pictures!

After that we changed and went to her house to hang out longer there. It was one of the best days I have had in awhile, and I am glad I got to spend the day with her and look forward to next week!

See you guys soon!

Details Details

Does it ever feel like you are doing too much at once? Yeah that's how I feel right about now. I am watching Are You Afraid of the Dark? and The Dark Night at the same time. It is really weird.

So lets talk some more about our details, or mine to be more precise.

In fashion terms I am into lolita, and if you know anything about lolita than you know there is sub-styles. And if you didn't, now you do. My favorite types are gothic, bittersweet, and punk... but I am in to everything, and wear whatever I feel like. Than for 'normal clothes' or what I call muggle clothes, I like black clothes and am obsessed with platform shoes! I am really digging the 90's feel and alternative fashions are the best inspirations!

Speaking of alternative fashion, you might see some street snaps on here! Where I live there isn't really any "cool" people, which is sad. But when ever I go into Denver or Aurora I am always inspired by the people I see! There are some awesome people out there. There are some fantastic outfits I have seen but never had the courage to ask for the picture! Oh, well. Now I actually have a reason.

I enjoy reading so much, you usually don't find me with out a book in my face. You might see some reviews and quotes on here. Especially some of my favorite books that I want to share with you. The books I am reading right now are Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Complete Sherlock Holmes: Volume 1 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, Killer's Kiss by R.L. Stine; just to name a few.

Killer's Kiss

I just did my header today as well! I did it all on this website. I have now been fixing all my pictures/playing around with them. It has been so much fun! I am fixing all my lolita pictures with my black dresses because the detail gets all lost! It makes me upset to say the least.

Re Done Photo

See the difference? I think it is real good fun! And who doesn't do this type of thing now in days? I see it all the time and am always awed with the results. Now I can do my own! It is AWESOME!

One of my favorite things to do when I am 1)not reading and 2)on the internet, is I watch movies. A lot of movies. My current thing is watching classic horror movies, or old horror movies. Some of my favorites so far, out of the 50 I am going to watch, are Carnival of Souls directed by Herk Harvey (1962), and Nightmare Castle directed by Mario Caiano (1965).

100_1174a

The last couple of movies I just watched for the first time that I enjoyed were, Chronicle directed by Josh Trank (2012), The Avengers directed by Joss Whedon (2012), and Donnie Darko directed by Richard Kelly (2001). All really good movies if I do say so myself.

See you guys around soon! Hope you enjoyed getting to know the smaller details about me, and what you might see on here.
